60's galore

Lately, I've been very much into the 60's. Just saw Barbarella for the first time. Loved it. It was so ridiculous. At some point in my life, I want a room covered in shag. The guy at the video store said they are making a remake of it soon, and Rose McGowan will be Barbarella.... I say they are ruining a classic! But it might be good?

And I have been very much into hunting down 60's kitchen products and electronics (EBAY!).
Here are some of my recent winnings!

Snack Set Canister
Hanging Planter

Still very much into tv's and radios. I'll have to save for those though.

I Love You, Man

You had me when you started talking about ebay...Yes, I fell in love with Jason Segel as soon as he started talking about ebay! I Love You, Man was a cute comedy- but had some missing pieces. Paul Rudd is great and his fiance was adorable. I just felt that they didn't really develop the story well enough- like you thought there was going to be some weird twist at the end, but alas, no. I laughed pretty hard at the projectile vomiting, that caught me way off guard. And the whole bit with Lou Ferrigno was amusing. I left the theater pleased. And also surprised to realize that Jason Segel was the writer of Forgetting Sarah Marshall---also one I enjoyed.

Yard Progress

We've been hard at work on the back yard for Cinco de Mayo. Pulled out all the old plants, and grass, and getting ready for sod and a brick patio. Aly and Jason bought an awesome fire pit and solar lights. It's going to look great!

New Desk

What a steal on craigslist! Only $25. I may eventually paint it, but for now, I will enjoy:)Plus cute 60's fabric for some new curtains.

Stream Show

Coming up is the 20th annual DAI Spring Show! I am excited this year because some of my stuff might be in it. I will post pics when the time comes.

For your ears...

Had MGMT on my mind.

Red Diamond

Briefly saw this on the news and was intrigued.

"The famed red diamond first appeared at the Museum of Natural History in Los Angeles in October of 2008 making it the gem's first exhibition in the U.S. It left four months later.

Now the diamond has returned for a second appearance in the Museum's Gem and Mineral Hall.

It will be on view from April 6 to May 29, 2009. The Museum is open seven days a week, 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is $9 for adults, $6.50 for students and seniors, and $2 for children ages 5-12. For 24-hour Museum information please call (213) 763-DINO or visit www.nhm.org."

Current Obsession: Vintage Electronics

I saw a ton of these at Nordstroms and have decided to start collecting vintage electronics. I even begged the guy to give me one. He told me to search ebay, so that's what I have been doing. I am totally digging the space age theme.

Flora Restaurant

Went to this great restaurant in Oakland called Flora. The restaurant had a retro style with delicious food. Their menu isn't up to date, so be prepared for a yummy surprise!

Maui!

Went to Maui over spring break with my family. Here's a few pics:)
